This landmarked building dating back to 1889 received a tactical modernization that preserved and enhanced historic features, including panel doors, millwork, and floor inlays, while improving the flow and efficiency of the layouts. In the first-floor unit, an internal stair penetration was cut to connect the first-floor foyer to a newly recaptured garden level. The garden level features a minimalist design that mediates between the historic detail of the main level and the contemporary style of the garden level.
